A stable manufacturing company in the Lurgan area with aggressive expansion planned for the year ahead is currently seeking an experienced 

Health and Safety Officer - 

You must have previous experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment and ideally with some experience of environmental.

Quality and R&D you will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous review of all aspects of Health & Safety including H&S audits, risk assessments, H&S reports..

 

Key responsibilities will include:- 

 Maintain company compliance ensuring all policies, procedures and processes are regularly reviewed and communicated and up to date with current operational processes and the latest regulations. 

 Participate in the audit certification

 Maintain and conduct detailed audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety system standards. 

 Complete Health & Safety inductions for all new employees and visitors to the site. 

 Complete prompt Near Miss and Accident reports and investigations ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented to reduce or eliminate further risk to employees. 

 Control and maintain all records of accidents, near miss, risk assessments, audits and actions logs for all H&S activities. 

 Ensure regular safety inspections are carried out in all areas including fire drills, working fire alarms, fire extinguishers and fire doors including access to the evacuation area. 

 Carry out H&S audit of company site service vehicles & as necessary support Site Services with H&S issues on Customers Sites. 

 Maintain the Health and Safety training matrix and initiate and lead H&S tool box talks with all relevant departments.

 Maintain equipment register / maintenance register / lifting equip register (RSA Inspections). 

 General administration duties as required within the department. 

 

The ideal candidate should be able to meet or exceed the following:- 

Essential:- 

 Third level qualification in Engineering, H&S/Quality or other related field 

 A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Health & Safety Manager/Officer role 

 IOSH / NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent knowledge  

 Experience of handling H&S and accident investigations 

 

 Experience in carrying out safety inductions and H&S internal audits and risk assessments 

 Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally at all levels within the organisation 

 Demonstrated experience and knowledge of H&S objective planning, control and improvement including working to audited ISO Health and Safety, and Quality standards
