Higher Environmental Planning Officer
3 months with possible extension to 12 months
A degree in a planning or environmental discipline
This may include planning, land use, sustainable development, biology, zoology, botany, ecology, geography, marine science, environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering or environmental law. Other planning or environmental related qualifications will be assessed in conjunction with evidence of experience relevant to the knowledge required for this post.
At least one year’s experience of environmental assessment and/or environmental management
A working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Hold a full current driving licence to drive within Northern Ireland and access to a form of transport that meets the needs of the post in full OR have access to a form of transport which enables the applicant to meet the full requirements of the post in full.* (*This relates to any person who has declared that they have a disability which debars them from driving).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, quality assure and carry out environmental assessment for development management.
- Lead input to Local Development Plans and other plans by researching baseline data and assessing proposals.
- Prepare environmental reports supported by maps and figures
