Our client, a leading public sector organisation, based in Stormont are looking to recruit an SGB2 to join their team.

The role is available immediately for 3 months, with possibility of extension.

Hourly Pay: £9.76

37 hours per week Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collection, sorting DSIB/ Histo samples, recording any issues/non-conformances, alerting the area Manager.

 

  1. Work to standards required by ISO17025. Associated duties relating to ISO accreditation, updating records, temperature monitoring accreditation duties include temperature monitoring, airflow monitoring update of spreadsheets.

 

  1. Ability to work as part of a team delivering diagnostic/statutory/research results within specific time schedule

 

  1. Adherence to health and safety regulations.

 

  1. Maintenance of laboratory records. This involves working with Excel spreadsheets, scanning, filing and emailing paperwork.

 

  1. Disposal of Histology waste and responsibility for routine cleanliness, calibration and maintenance of Histology instrumentation. Sorting and storage of blocks and slides.

 

  1. Lifting and labelling paraffin wax sections onto glass slides

 

  1. Ordering and collection of store items. Stock taking of consumable items, monitoring usage of chemicals and consumables.

 

  1. Any other duties as required to maintain compliance with quality standards and/or SOPs in Histology.


Essential Criteria:

  1. A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including a science subject

  2. A general science background would be beneficial

  3. Experience of working in a laboratory environment would be beneficial

  4. Effective communication skills

  5. Ability to work as part of a team

  6. Ability to work flexible working hours
