Our client, a leading public sector organisation, based in Belfast are looking to recruit an Administrative Officer to join their team.

The role is available immediately, Initially 6 months.

Hourly Pay: £11.11


The contracted hours are 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday

Key responsibilities:

Managing their own caseload to effectively complete day to day casework investigation activities, on cases allocated to RH by the team leader and using the BF system and case status reports on the line of business IT system, Investigation includes:

· telephoning debtors and asking basic questions about their financial circumstances to ascertain their ability to pay;

· using automated online processes to request financial information from the third parties

· writing to the debtor’s bank or employer where these have been identified from the searches, or reported by the debtor or creditor, to request verification of income, employment;

· writing to the debtor where telephone contact has been unsuccessful to ask that they come to an arrangement to pay or provide information about their financial circumstances; and

· securely recording all information and/or in the clerical files as appropriate with all activities carried out in line with the manual and/or line manager advice.

Qualifications –

Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above to include English and Maths ( certificates must be provided)

· Experience

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

· Effective telephony, call handling and negotiation skills

· Ability to deal with difficult situations – due to the sometimes emotive nature of the work, some customers will be difficult; therefore a high level of professionalism must be displayed to resolve conflict situations

· Ability to work in an organised way to deliver outcomes on time and to standard

· Making and recording effective decisions following the appropriate decision making guidance, framework or criteria, undertaking appropriate analysis to support those decisions


· Effective IT skills including use of email
