In partnership with our Client the Consumer Council Northern Ireland we have an excellent opportunity for a Consumer protection officer to join their team.
Rate of pay £13.52 per hour
Hours – 9AM – 5PM Monday – FridayContract – March 2022 however this is likely to be extended Location – Remote working at the moment

  1. Presently we are working from home as set out by Government guidelines. Should this position change, the appointee would be expected to attend the offices at Seatem House as and when required.


  1. Specific duties

  2. To be responsible for investigation, resolution and reporting of all customer related complaints.


  1. To be an effective communicator and ensure all complaints are acknowledged in a timely manner and customers are kept information throughout the complaint process;


  1. To provide excellent customer service to consumers and maximise consumer satisfaction within the Council;


  1. To manage the resolution of customer complaints, within given timescales;


  1. To be the first point of contact for all consumer complaints and protection related issues;


  1. To liaise with the Regulated Industries Directorate, Consumer Empowerment, Protection and Insight Team on a regular basis and report on the level of consumer complaint resolutions;


  1. To input all complaints onto The Consumer Council database’ reporting and seeing through to completion;


  1. To escalate all unresolved issues/complaints to The Consumer Empowerment Officer, and


  1. To ensure all Consumer Council policies and procedures relating to customer complaints are followed and are adhered to and documented.



  1. Experience of working in a busy customer service role, handling telephone calls and dealing with customer complaints.

  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills

  3. Experience of using a customer relationship management (CRM) system
