Cook – Tollymore

£13.52 pr hour

6 month post – possible extension

Shift times

Between 4-6 hour shifts, these can be between 7.30am-7.30pm including weekends

Job duties:

Cooking

To prepare, cook and serve meals, including:

· Washing, chopping and mixing food products as required

· Using a range of techniques to cook food

· Preparing tea, coffee and traybakes as required

· Ensuring that all food is stored appropriately

· Minimising wastage

Serving

To serve food to customers, staff and guests as required, including:

· Serving food at meal times at the server

· Table service, as required

· Serving Centre visitors with tea, coffee and food as required

Cleaning

To thoroughly clean, as required and directed:

· Pots, pans and other kitchen utensils

· Kitchen, including floors, sinks, tables, surfaces, etc

· Dining area

· Kitchenette

· Coffee area

· Other areas as required

General

· Ordering from suppliers, receiving goods, and ensuring food is stored appropriately

· Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner

· Report all defects to the Head Cook

· Assist other staff with preparing orders from suppliers, in line with procurement policy

· Maintain effective stock control at all times through rotation and date checks

· Other general duties to support the operation and general maintenance of the catering function as directed by line manager.

You will have:

· Food Safety Hygiene Certificate

Knowledge & Experience:

· 1 years experience of working as a cook in a restaurant, café, school, hotel (or similar) kitchen

· Experience of working in a public facing environment

· Experience of working as part of a team

· Knowledge of good hygiene practices
