We are currently recruiting for a Videographer/ Social Media assistant to start with Northern Ireland Civil Service based in the Belfast area.  The successful candidate will be required to start asap subject to approval of the candidates CV, an Access NI background check and proof of the relevant qualifications to qualify.    Please note a license and access to a car is essential for this role. 


Rate of pay:  £16.80ph (Staff Officer grade)


Hours of work:  Full time.  37 hours per week.  Monday to Friday.  9am to 5pm.


Duration:  Until the end of June 2022 with possible extension. 


Main Job duties:  (Further job description can be provided) 

The role reports directly to the Social Media Manager and Principal Information Officer (PIO) and provides:-

  • strategic and operational advice on all aspects of social media; 
  • development along with social media manager of the current DAERA social media strategy by working closely with Divisions and harness new opportunities to tell the DAERA story more widely; including greater use of Instagram features such as reels, new channel developments and coming up with creative ways to present DAERA’s policy areas.
  • assist in social media content creation to support new content ideas – photos, videos, reels. 
  • assist information officers if required for support to attend DAERA ministerial events with the DAERA Minister, NI Assembly business or record videos on location (which could be anywhere in Northern Ireland)
  • development of social media advice and training for senior officials;
  • review of current social media monitoring and reporting processes; 
  • development of social media content in conjunction with press team and social media manager; 
  • assist in compilation of statistical reports and analysis for various social media campaigns and announcements for business areas and participate and occasionally lead work on DAERA Social Media Forum 
  • Ensure the Departmental website is effective and current
  • Assist in producing and editing videos for a variety of platforms.
