Our client is interested in recruiting a temporary EO1 to join their team. 

 

Job role – EO1

 

Location – Agency worker will be working from home, so they will need to have either a laptop or a personal computer and also a mobile phone

 

Hours of work – Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm – 37 hours per week

 

Length of role – Anticipated up to 31 March 2022 – placement will be subject to the budget i.e. the placement may end at any time should the budget situation demand it.

Rate of pay – £14.47

 

 

 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer, the Finance and Administrative Executive will work as part of the Corporate Services Team responsible for the provision of a wide range of financial and administrative services across the Commission.

 

Duties of the Post

 

Finance

 

  1. Processing salaries and other associated costs including, income tax, national insurance, statutory sick pay, maternity pay and other statutory entitlements and maintaining adequate records including returns to DSS and Inland Revenue and completing associated statutory annual returns.

 

  1. Assisting in the processing and maintenance of pension records.

 

  1. Supervision of accounts payable in line with Governmental Prompt Payment directions.

 

  1. Vouching transactions per agreed schedule /procedures to verify the probity of internal control procedures.

 

  1. Administering and controlling cash expenditure including the recording of recurring charges.

 

  1. Reconciliation of Bank and other control accounts.

 

  1. Assisting in the setting up and maintenance of budgets and variances.

 

  1. Assisting in the allocation of charges within cost centres and of the administration of an overall e-procurement process.

 

  1. Assisting in the setting up and maintenance of a chart of accounts.

 

  1. Monitoring Commissioners and Staff business travel expenses and budgets.

 

  1. Maintaining the Commission’s Asset Register.

 

  1. Control of petty cash.

Administration

 

  1. Controlling and procuring stock items (consumables) as set out in Commission procedures.

 

  1. Supervising the postal procedures in line with agreed standards.

 

  1. Assist in the monitoring of facilities management to ensure that satisfactory standards are achieved.

 

  1. Supervising the maintenance of all other financial and administrative records, both manual and computerised.

 

 

Supervision of staff

 

  1. Supervising administrative staff, including the allocation of work such as reception, reprographics, processing incoming and outgoing mail, post runs etc. to meet agreed standards of service.

 

  1. Supervising, motivating, appraising and developing the staff under his/her control, ensuring satisfactory performance, conduct, attendance and timekeeping.

 

  1. Promoting a positive approach to equal opportunities and ensuring that the Commission’s equal opportunity policies and procedures are adhered to by the staff under his/ her control.

 

  1. Any other duties appropriate to the grade.

 

 

Essential Requirements

 

  1. Qualified to at least professional Year 1 of a recognised accountancy body or membership of the Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland (IATI) (or equivalent).

 

  1. At least two years experience in an accounting environment.

 

  1. Experience in the use of IT spreadsheets / accounting software, particularly Excel.

 

  1. Experience in the analysis and presentation of statistical information.

 

 

Preferred Requirements

 

  1. Experience in dual cash and accrual reporting.

 

  1. At least one year’s experience in supervising staff.
