We are recruiting a Equipment Technician to join our team in Belfast
36.25 hours per week
Monday – Friday 8am-4pm
£13.22 per hour
To be responsible for the inspection, servicing, modification, maintenance, and repair of NIFRS breathing apparatus, plant and operational equipment ensuring they are fully operational to manufacturers specifications including the completion of all associated documentation, both written and electronic so there is a 24 hour availability of the vehicles.
To assist all other trades within Fleet & Engineering services where their skill set is more applicable to affect that repair, including all operational vehicles
To service, inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair all clean air equipment including Breathing Apparatus ancillary equipment, cylinders, breathing air compressors & oxygen booster pumps to the required EN, Pressure Safety Systems Regulations and any other health & safety standards
To ensure that all electrical equipment is tested and complies with relevant legislation and certify compliance
To inspect, maintain, fault-find and repair all pneumatic equipment, including air lifting units and controllers to manufacturers and/or fire service standards.
To liaise with manufacturers and suppliers of all equipment to ensure that any work conducted is completed to the required standard
You will have
Level 3 trade qualification NVQ in either, Mechanical, Electrician, Hydraulic or Pneumatic AND at least 2 years experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise.
You must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data; excellent written & verbal communication skills and have a strong customer focus.
Great experience of Microsoft Applications
Possess a current B Class driving licence
