Our client is currently seeking a temporary Events Officer based in Bangor although currently working from home.
Hours: 36 hours (must be able to work unsocial hours including bank holidays and weekends)
Pay rate: £10.73
Length: March to September
-To assist the Events Officer in the organisation and delivery of a programme of major festivals and annual events throughout the Borough in accordance with the Council’s Tourism Strategy.
To assist in the organisation and delivery of major festivals and annual events e.g. booking artists, hire equipment and materials and to work at events.
To liaise with other Council Officers and Departments and with external organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors as and when directed.
To undertake general clerical, administrative and secretarial duties in support of the Events Officer and to maintain an events equipment inventory.
To process invoices and to maintain records relating to the Events budgets.
To provide the Marketing Section and Visitor Information Centre with Event Information to service public enquiries.
To comply with and promote equality, health and safety in accordance with Council Policies and legal requirements.
To undertake any other appropriate duties as may be allocated from time to time in accordance with the general nature of the post.
The postholder is required to be available for duty at the various events, often in the evenings or at weekends.
-5 GCSE’s at Grades A-C including Maths and English
-2 years’ relevant events experience to include the organisation of events, booking artists, events administration and working at events.
-Good written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to use own initiative
-Good organisational and time management skills
-Experience processing invoices and maintaining records.
-A valid driving licence with access to a form of transport.
