Port Health Team Manager

Pay Rate £20.16

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provide day-to-day supervision and support whilst working as one of the team of

Port Health Officers at Larne Port to ensure consistent, appropriate and

proportionate service delivery.

Undertake the full range of Port Health duties as they pertain to the Point of

Entry, Larne Port applying professional and technical expertise.

Assist the Principal Environmental Health Officer (PEHO) plan and manage

resources in tandem with service demands and deputise in their absence.

Essential

Criterion 1

Applicants must have a degree in Environmental Health.

Criterion 2

Please demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have two years’ (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement in Criteria 1) experience:

in a local government Environmental Health role.

Criterion 3

Please demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have two years’ (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement in Criteria 1) experience:

in effective monitoring and supervision of a team of Environmental Health staff.

Criterion 4

Please demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have two years’ (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement in Criteria 1) experience in at least one of the functional areas:

· in effective budgetary management following specified procedures and guidance.

Criterion 5

Please demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that you have two years’ (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement in Criteria 1) experience in at least one of the functional areas:

· in complex regulatory enforcement.

Criterion 6

Applicants must hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Criterion 7

Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and statutory obligations.

Criterion 8

Applicants must have an understanding of the main issues and developments impacting on service delivery within the service portfolio.

Criterion 9

Competence in the use of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Criterion 10

Hold a full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a form of transport that meets the needs of the post in full OR have access to a form of transport which enables the applicant to meet the full requirements of the post in full.* (*This relates to any person who has declared that they have a disability which debars them from driving).
