We are currently recruiting for a Regulation Analyst to start asap with Northern Ireland Civil Service.  The successful candidate will be required to start asap subject to approval of their CV, the vetting process, an Access NI background check and proof of relevant exam results.  

 

Rate of pay for a deputy principal grade:  £27.04ph 

 

Duration:  3 months, may be extended up to 51 weeks

 

Hours of work:   37 hours per week.  The offices of the Utility Regulator are open for business between the hours of 7am and 7pm Monday – Friday. Staff may avail of “flexi-time” provided that it meets with the business need, with flexible start and finish times outside the core hours of 10am to 4pm

 

Job duties:

Working as a Regulation Analyst, you will provide analysis and advice relating to a number of aspects of utility regulation.  You will work across a variety of functions within a team-based environment and contribute to the delivery of Utility Regulator aims and objectives. This role is well suited to persons with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills paired with excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of governance. Any experience in the energy or water sector, or understanding of the legal and regulatory framework underpinning the utility regulation would be an advantage

 

Criteria:

Experience understanding and analysing policy, economic and/or technical considerations relevant to a policy environment or regulated sector that would cover engineering, finance and economics with interaction of the appropriate legal framework.

 

Experience of collaborative working and ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
