An exciting opportunity has arisen within Health, Safety and Environment with our client NIE. Currently seeking to recruit a Reporting & Compliance Officer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37 hours per week and the salary band is 20 – 25k. This is to cover Maternity leave.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide real-time compliance support and advice. This is an interesting and varied role reporting to a Safety Engineer.

It is a requirement that the individual has the ability to closely engage with people and processes, to understand and focus on detail, to have a proactive approach and a passion for continual improvement.

This post will have responsibility for:

  • Collate and verify data/ sources of information for internal reporting, corporate and ESB Group Scorecards
  • Analyse and collate data associated with incidents and Near Miss events.
  • Collate HSMC papers and information and publish on Sharepoint.
  • Prepare and collate ENA data.
  • Prepare and collate of ESB data.
  • Audit, maintain and update Authorisation Database and Certificates.
  • Provide verification, checks and assurance for external and statutory reporting – ESQCR, RIDDOR etc.
  • Audit recommendations in accordance with Formal Inquiry Policy.
  • Ensure continued success in achieving our KPIs (defined in the HS&W Business Plan and RP6 Business Plan)
  • Maintain and prepare evidence for our ISO 45001 accreditations. This provides external assurance that we have a robust management framework for managing, controlling and reporting against our safety risks.
  • Prepare and analyse ENA environmental data.
  • Collate information for EMC, Exec/ Board and Business Unit Scorecards.
  • Maintain and prepare evidence for our ISO 14001 accreditation. This provides external assurance that we have a robust management framework for managing, controlling and reporting against our environmental risks.
  • Collate waste report info each month from all Contractors
  • Assist with the preparation a monthly safety brief for business units
  • GDPR Assurance link person.
  • Safety & Environment Policy – audit and monitor and highlight due dates for policy review.
    Assist with developing systems for improved data collation and analysis in line with RP6 IT Change Programme

Update Safety related documents and communications when required. Ensure updates are available to all staff on The Wire

  • Maintain an effective working relationship through teamwork, engagement and communication with all employees and external agencies

Essential Criteria

  • Practical understanding on the ISO 45001 accreditation, ESQCR and RIDDOR

  • Developed IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collate and analyse information and formulate reports.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Attentive to detail and willing to meet quality standards.
  • Relates well with other members of the team.
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills with the ability to influence
  • Have a positive attitude to the job with a willingness to meet deadlines.

Desirable Criteria

  • Practical understanding of SoftCO, SRM, Sharepoint & Maximo
  • Proven ability to collate and analyse information and formulate reports.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent; or ability to work towards
