Our client, a leading public sector organisation, is looking to recruit a Temporary Data Specialist to be based in the Bangor area.

The role is available immediately and would be for 6 months.

Hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday 9-5

Pay rate: £16.18 per hour

Purpose of the Role:

  • To provide expert data handling skills within the Area Planning Team which can be shared with the managing authorities and sectoral bodies.

  • To manage, process, shape, analyse and present data generated through the application of SSP (criteria and indicators) and the area planning process to inform the development of the next strategic area plan.

  • A significant feature of Area Planning Policy Teams and the work of the SO-grade officials is the analysis of and advice on Proposals through high quality submissions. DPs follow a statutory process by which actions arising from Area Plans and are given effect. ·

  • The teams also consult and liaise with a range of colleagues on issues impacting on the SSP and the Area Planning process.

Main Duties are as follows:

  • Contribute to the Area Planning process (including scrutiny of draft Area Plans and monitoring of AAPs).

  • Assess the evidence base in DPs brought forward by planning and managing authorities adhering to relevant legislation; challenge Cases for Change as required, collate and quality assure inputs and draft high quality, accurate and timely submissions with a recommendation.

  • Contribute to the preparation of evidence briefing including for meetings about DPs, Strategic and Operational Area Plans.

  • Prepare evidence bases to be used in answers to official correspondence; and media enquiries.

  • Evaluate and revise team data processes as required.

  • Work with large data bases to comprise an evidence bank of SSP criteria to allow for trend analyses, identification of gaps in sustainability.

  • Work with statistical, GIS and info graphic software to produce easily communicated visuals for area planning to a wide range of audiences

  • Attend and contribute to Local Area Planning Group meetings (if required)

  • Prepare management information.
