We are currently recruiting for a staff officer grade/experienced administrator/Project Manager who has experience in managing programmes or projects to start asap in a public sector role with Northern Ireland Civil Service. The role will be starting asap and will be based in the BT4 area but will be primarily working from home under review.
Rate of pay: £16.18ph
Duration: ASAP for 51 weeks with possible extension
Hours of work: 37 hours. Full-time. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Job duties:

The purpose of the role is to support the Head of the Programme Management Office in the management of the Programme and Projects incorporated within the DAERA Science Transformation Programme.

Main duties will include –
-
Operating day to day governance arrangements associated with the delivery of the Science Transformation Programme and related projects, including
-
supporting the DP in the management of the programme and projects including timely monitoring and evaluation of progress against plans
-
ensuring Programme and Project plans are kept up to date
-
providing first draft progress reports to Programme/Project Boards
-
Providing first draft briefings for a range of audiences (Minister, Departmental Senior Management, TUS, external and internal stakeholders)
-
Monitoring Programme and Project budgets including profiling and preparation of bids, easements and technical transfers during monitoring rounds and providing timely reports and advice to Programme and Project Managers

Identify risks promptly and provide possible solution to management

Arranging and facilitating timely Gateway Reviews

Supporting the development of, and ongoing monitoring of Programme and Project Risk Registers, and providing first draft updates for management on progress against targets/outcomes

Supporting the implementation of the Science Transformation Programme Benefits Realisation Plan

Provide secretariat support Programme/Project Board meetings including minute taking and follow-up action
-
Management of Programme Management Office staff including the allocation of work and encouraging a team spirit to ensure best possible results, providing regular and meaningful feedback to enhance team performance

Other duties may be required that are appropriate to the grade
Criteria:
At least 3 years’ experience at middle management implementing a major programme or project.
